Blasta Mhor welcomes record-breaking bull Jock of Cnoc Na Sith to the fold

Blasta Mhor Highland Cattle has secured champion bull Jock of Cnoc Na Sith, a rising three‑year‑old from the renowned Isle of Mull fold, strengthening the company’s UK‑led breeding program and cross‑continent genetic pipeline.
Bred for longevity and temperament, Jock carries concentrated home genetics – by Alastair of Cnoc Na Sith and out of Monica 3rd of Cnoc Na Sith (by Egan of Cnoc Na Sith). Jock recently set a new male record price, underscoring the quality of his pedigree and the demand for disciplined Highland bloodlines.
Blasta Mhor is co‑founded by Angus MacGillivray (Dalmally, Scotland) and Paul Reese (Bowral, NSW, Australia). The house operates a UK‑rooted, Australia‑developing model: access to elite Scottish genetics, maternal‑line prioritisation, and third‑party assessment – brought together to advance Highland lineage globally.
“Jock fits our philosophy precisely. His lineage is consistent over generations, his temperament is correct, and his structure is honest. We’ll collect semen for export to Australia, then run him with our UK cows in a tightly controlled program. Our view is simple – that is, process shapes lineage – and Jock strengthens that standard.”

The immediate plan is semen collection for export to Australia, followed by carefully managed natural service within the Scottish fold. This approach complements recent milestones, including the first Australian ET‑calf from a carefully sourced Mull bull.
“Blasta Mhor exists to preserve and advance true Scottish Highland genetics. We focus on the maternal line, temperament, and structural correctness, then validate through independent assessment. Jock arrives into a system designed to protect authentic lineage through limited releases, documented provenance, and champion genetic selection.”
